Can I get a tether anchor kit and who installs them?

Mazda's tether kit is designed for front-facing baby seats. Tether anchor kits are offered free of charge by Mazda. Please contact your local authorized Mazda dealership for the part. The dealership can install the part for you free of charge.

Does my car seat fit my Mazda?

Mazda does not test the individual fit of each car seat in our vehicles. Please contact the manufacturer of your car seat for their recommendations.

What is the warranty on my tires?

The tire manufacturer covers this warranty. For any questions regarding your warranty, please contact the specific manufacturer.

I am requesting information on importing/exporting my vehicle between USA and Canada. What do I need to do?

Requests are processed as they come in. Due to the large volume of requests, processing time is approximately 20 business days from the date of receipt. We are unable to consider "rush" requests.

How do I contact Roadside Assistance?

Vehicles within the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, dial 1-800-866-1998. Vehicles outside of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty can use the same number but will be charged for the service.

How do get an owner's manual, wiring diagram and/or workshop manual?

Please contact your nearest authorized Mazda dealership and speak with the Parts Department. They will be more than willing to assist you.

What is covered under the manufacturer's warranty?

The New Vehicle Limited Warranty for 2007 models is 36 months/36,000 miles, whichever comes first, from the original in-service date. In addition, all 2007 models have a 60 months/60,000 miles Powertrain limited warranty. The Powertrain includes such items as the engine, transmission, trans-axles, and differentials. Defects in materials and workmanship are covered. Please contact your Mazda dealership for complete details.

The New Vehicle Limited Warranty for 2003 to 2006 models is 48-months/50,000-miles, whichever comes first, from the original in-service date. It covers defects in material or workmanship.

All warranty work must be performed at an authorized Mazda dealer.

How do I purchase a Mazda Extended Protection Plan (MEPP)?

Which tire pressure do you follow - the door or the tire?

Please follow the numbers found on the door. These numbers on the tire are the maximum allowable pressure.

Where can snow chains be purchased?

They can be purchased at any automotive store. Use the chain/cable manufacturer's fit book to determine which chains are best suited for the vehicle. The book may be more comprehensive than the label on the chain/cable box.

How can I replace my Mazda lug nut key?

Please contact our vendor, McGard, directly at (800) 444-5847 who will be happy to assist you in obtaining another key.

Can I tow something behind my vehicle?

Mazda does not recommend towing anything behind the vehicle unless the vehicle is specifically designed for towing. The only vehicles designed for towing are those vehicles that come equipped with a factory-installed Towing Package. Please refer to your owner's manual for more details.

Does Mazda recommend the use of synthetic oil?

Mazda has specific recommendations on the type of oil to use in your Mazda. To determine which oil should be used, consult your owner's manual.

Which vehicles come with a clear coat on the exterior paint?

All vehicles 2002 model year and newer have a clear coat on the exterior paint. For vehicles prior to 2002, please contact your local authorized Mazda dealer to determine if your vehicle's exterior paint has a clear coat.

Where are the air bags (safety restraint system) located?

The driver's air bag is located in the steering wheel, and the passenger's air bag is located in the dashboard.

In 1998, the federal government mandated all cars to have driver and passenger-side air bags. In 1999, the federal government mandated all trucks and vans to be equipped with driver and passenger-side air bags.

What is ABS and what is its function?

ABS stands for Anti-lock Brake System. It is designed to help keep a vehicle's wheels from skidding when the brakes are applied to assist the driver in maintaining steering control during panic stops. During a hard brake, it applies and releases the brake up to 20 times a second to help prevent wheel lockup and contribute to enhanced steering control. Drivers should use the "stomp and steer" technique, maintaining constant pressure on the brake.

Can a navigation system be added to a vehicle already built at the factory?

The navigation system provided by Mazda must be added prior to the factory building of the vehicle.

What is the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for accessories?

How do I find out how the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) rated my vehicle for safety?

You may visit their website at: http://www.safercar.gov/. You will be able to choose any model to see the safety rating.

Can non-MAZDASPEED dealerships work on MAZDASPEED vehicles?

Each Mazda dealership can repair any Mazda vehicle. The difference is that the non-MAZDASPEED dealerships cannot inventory parts and accessories for MAZDASPEED vehicles. Also, these dealerships may not have all the formal training on repairing specific parts inherent in MAZDASPEED vehicles.

What octane rating for fuel should I use on my vehicle?

Mazda has specific recommendations on the level of octane to use in your Mazda. To determine which fuel should be used, consult your owner's manual.

What type of oil is recommended?

For details on the maintenance of your vehicle, please see the owner's manual for the specific model and year of the vehicle.

Will my retractable key work for any of my Mazdas, since the keys look the same?

A redesigned key/keyless entry transmitter has been introduced on some 2005 models (2005 MX-5 MX-5 Miata, 2005 MPV and 2005 RX-8). The redesigned keys/transmitters look similar in many ways, but cannot be interchanged between vehicles or with any other models.

CAUTION: Although the different models’ keys appear identical, they contain different transponders for the anti-theft ignition. If the incorrect part number key is obtained as a replacement key, key programming will not be successful and the engine will not start.

NOTE: Transmitters will only accept a half-inch diameter key ring. Larger diameter key ring may not fit the unique attachment point of transmitter.

What does the word “ICE” mean on the auto-dimming mirror gauge?

If the temperature gauge on the mirror reads "ICE," it is operating correctly and means that the outside temperature has reached freezing (32 degrees F or less). The temperature sensor does not read temperatures below freezing.

How can I activate SIRIUS satellite radio?

First, purchase a SIRIUS Satellite Ready Kit from your local Mazda dealership. Once the kit has been installed, you will need to contact SIRIUS directly at (888)539-7474 to subscribe to the service.

What happened to the Mazda vehicles that were damaged in the Cougar Ace shipment?

On July 24, 2006, a number of MAZDA3s and Mazda CX-7s were damaged during shipment on the Cougar Ace, the vessel that tipped at sea and endured extensive water damage. Mazda is committed to make sure these water-damaged vehicles are not sold as new vehicles in the market place.
