The 2013 MX-5 Miata echoes the classic curves of its predecessor with a modern, seductive flair. The redesigned grille and front fascia, plus wide, sculpted fenders and smooth arching bodylines, amplify the Miata’s muscular look while working together aerodynamically for less turbulent, top-down exhilaration.
From the distinctive front fascia to high performance tires and dual exhaust outlets, the MX-5 boasts sporty design cues worthy of its prowess—and a few unexpected conveniences too.
Change the atmosphere of your drive in seconds, literally. Go from controlled climate to topless with a Z-fold soft top that stows in as little as two seconds. Thanks to the convenient central release lever, you can easily-yet-securely lock or release the convertible top without getting out of the driver’s seat. The aerodynamically designed convertible top adds little weight to the vehicle and, when lowered, collapses into its own compartment for a tight fit that doesn’t reduce your 5.3 cubic feet of trunk space.
Standard halogen headlights brightly illuminate the path ahead and last longer than traditional incandescent headlamps. Or choose the available Xenon headlights for even brighter, whiter and broader light in all conditions. The low-set and stylishly bold clear-lens halogen fog lights–standard on all trims–project light beneath the fog layer to help increase visibility in inclement weather.
The MX-5 cockpit was designed for one purpose–to make you feel at one with your machine. Custom fit control starts with a sporty, leather-wrapped steering wheel that provides a comfortable, confident grip. Strategically positioned pedals provide even faster heel-and-toe action for those hairpin turns while racing-inspired gauges help keep you in tune with the engine. Strap into the adjustable driver’s bucket seat designed meticulously to accommodate your specific driving position, or upgrade to heated leather-trimmed seats with five heat settings.

Zero to 60 is nothing without 60 to zero.
All MX-5s are equipped with these standard safety features:
Safety is at the core of our engineering—and the Miata’s. Using the “gram strategy” and ultra-high-tensile steel, Mazda engineers made the MX-5 lightweight and perfectly balanced without reducing the strength and integrity of the body’s construction. All trims are equipped with advanced dual front airbags‡‡ with a passenger-side deactivation switch and dual side impact airbags.

The standard engine immobilizer anti-theft system helps protect your vehicle by requiring a properly coded key to start the engine. If a counterfeit key is used, the engine will not start. Available as an accessory or part of the Premium Package, the perimeter alarm system helps to deter potential damage or theft of your Miata while parked.
