The eye-catching 2010 MX-5 Miata represents more than 20 years of a winning concept - a lightweight roadster that's purely about the experience between driver and machine. It's the Zoom-Zoom formula we've never strayed from.
With 20 years of racing heritage, the MX-5 Miata is built to handle the rigors of the racetrack - and your daily commute.
This fun-to-drive roadster craves the curves as much as you do thanks to its 4-wheel independent suspension and nearly telepathic handling.
- Front suspension features aluminum-alloy, double-wishbone construction for lower un-sprung weight and quicker response
- Rear suspension builds off the Mazda RX-8 multilink design with lighter parts and frame-specific construction made just for the MX-5 Miata
- If you like to push your ride in the curves, opt for the Suspension Package and get sport-tuned springs and Bilstein® shock absorbers (available on Touring and Grand Touring)
Weight & Balance
Light weight and perfect balance are everything in a sports car. It translates into the ultra-responsive handling the MX-5 Miata is known for - on and off the track.
- The "gram strategy" - every single component of the MX-5 Miata is weighed, and even the slightest amount of extra weight is shaved off wherever possible
- Lightweight body construction utilizes high and ultra-high tensile steel, and aluminum-alloy on the hood and trunk lid* to help make the MX-5 Miata one of the lightest cars in its class
- Mazda engineers suspended the MX-5 Miata in the air to determine its perfect center point. The seated driver actually provides the necessary weight to achieve its near-perfect 50/50 front-to-rear weight distribution
* Aluminum-alloy trunk lid on soft top only.
Brake System
With the exhilaration of turn after turn ahead of you, it's good to know you can rely on the advanced braking system to keep things in check.
- 4-wheel disc brakes have a smooth, linear feel that help inspire confidence
- Large 11.4-inch vented disc brakes up front and 11.0-inch discs in back help ensure strong braking performance time after time
- 4-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) provide superior control on every MX-5 Miata

Safety Features
The advanced safety features of the MX-5 Miata offer the reassurance of prevention.
- Available Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)* modulates the throttle and brakes when over or understeer is detected, helping to keep the vehicle stable during aggressive maneuvers
- The 4-wheel Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) pulses the brakes hundreds of times per second to help prevent wheel lockup so the driver can make controlled and confident stops
- Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) monitors the pressure in all four tires and alerts the driver before any tire becomes critically low
* Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) is an electronic system to help the driver maintain control under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether DSC will be effective in preventing loss of control. Please see the Owner's Manual for further details.
