Opening the Hood

1. Pull the hood release handle.

   The hood will raise slightly.

   

2. Insert your hands into the clearance under the hood and lift the hood while folding the lever in the direction of the arrow.

   

3. While maintaining the hood in place, raise the support rod by holding the padded area.

   

4. Align the support rod with the support rod hole position indicated by the arrow and lower the hood.

   

Closing the Hood

1. Check under the hood area to make certain all filler caps are in place and all loose items (e.g. tools, oil containers, etc.) have been removed.

2. While supporting the hood with your hand, remove the support rod by holding the padded area.

3. Secure the support rod to the clip.

   

4. Lower the hood slowly and release it from a height of about 20 cm (7.9 in) to close it.
