Using Private eCall (Canada) TypeE

If an accident deploying the air bags or a rear-end collision is detected, or the SOS button is pressed, the vehicle’s location information and emergency signal are sent to the Private eCall Center operator. The Private eCall Center operator makes a call to the customer through the onboard communication unit, confirms the situation, and then arranges for an emergency vehicle if necessary.

  • The service may not be available depending on the communication environment.
  • In minor collisions, a Private eCall may not be automatically initiated.
  • If the red light on the SOS button is turned on, the onboard communication unit is not operating correctly. Have your vehicle inspected by an Authorized Mazda Dealer.
  • The internal battery used in the onboard communication unit has a limited life.

【Automatic Call Due to Air Bag Deployment/Collision Detection】

A Private eCall is automatically initiated when an air bag deployment or a collision is detected.

IIf an air bag deployment or a collision is detected, the vehicle’s location information and emergency signal are sent to the Private eCall Center operator.

In minor collisions, a Private eCall may not be automatically initiated.

The Private eCall Center operator makes a call through the onboard communication unit.

If there is no response from the customer, it is assumed that the customer is unconscious and the Private eCall Center operator will immediately arrange for an emergency vehicle on behalf of the customer.

Communicate the circumstances of the accident or injuries, and whether arrangements for an emergency vehicle are needed.

The Private eCall Center operator will arrange for an emergency vehicle if necessary.

Depending on the conditions inside and outside the vehicle, take the most necessary measures to prevent secondary accidents and wait for rescue.

【Manual Call Using SOS Button】

In the event of an emergency, such as a sudden illness, road rage, or aggressive driving, a Private eCall can be initiated by operating the SOS button in the vehicle.

Make sure that the red and green lights on the SOS button are turned off.

Press and hold the SOS button for 1 second or longer and then release it.

To prevent incorrect operation, the SOS button does not operate unless you press and hold it for 1 second or longer.

The green light on the SOS button flashes.
The vehicle's location information and emergency signal are sent to the Private eCall Center operator.

When the green light on the SOS button turns on, the call is in progress.
The Private eCall Center operator makes a call through the onboard communication unit.

If you do not answer, the Private eCall Center operator does not make any arrangements, such as an emergency vehicle, and ends the call.

Communicate your physical condition and whether arrangements for an emergency vehicle are needed.

The Private eCall Center operator will arrange for an emergency vehicle if necessary.

When the call ends, the green light on the SOS button turns off.
Depending on the conditions inside and outside the vehicle, take the most necessary measures to prevent secondary accidents and wait for rescue.

  • While talking with the Private eCall Center operator, you can confirm the call on the center display.
  • After you cancel your connected Service contract, please keep [Connected Services] (or [Online Connectivity]) box cheked. The vehicle will not transmit data even if checked. If unchecked, [Connected Services Disabled] massage displayed when the push button start / power switch is switched ON.
