Food and its deep significance to culture and location offers a journey all its own. Mazda partnered with chefs Joe Sasto and David Olson to curate a special menu inspired by the local cuisine of Scottsdale, Arizona. Tapping into the desert locale, the two curated a dining experience for food and travel content creators as well as Mazda owners.
This dinner didn’t take place in a typical restaurant or dining room. Instead, these culinary adventurers drove to a special location amid the saguaro cactus forests of Arizona's Gold Canyon in the first-ever Mazda CX-50.

OFF-ROAD FOOD JOURNEY
Inspired by local ingredients, this desert drive was about more than experiencing the off-road capabilities and impressive handling of Mazda’s CX-50—it was about embarking on a different kind of excursion.
Setting up camp in the desert, chefs Joe and David got to work crafting a special meal. Content creators and Mazda owners with a shared appreciation for all things food and travel followed suit—experiencing the CX-50 firsthand as they drove out to the supper club pop-up.
The communal aspect of this dining experience highlights something truly invaluable. Mazda’s CX-50 enables you to explore nature more, but it also allows you to take others along for the journey.

TERRA TO TABLE
Chefs Joe and David focused their locally sourced, farm-to-table menu on a kaleidoscope of indigenous ingredients inspired by the desert landscape. From fire-roasted bone marrow with red pepper relish, to coffee-cocoa and chile-rubbed wagyu tomahawk ribeye steaks—the desert dinner pop-up took the guests on a flavor expedition. Methods like asado-style smoked surf and turf further highlighted the five-course menu’s regional influence.
